Privacy Policy
Deutsche Fassung: Datenschutzerklärung. If the two versions differ, the German version prevails.
- No account, no advertising, no analytics or tracking.
- You buy the full version through Google Play. We never receive payment data.
- Your village is saved only on your device.
- Microphone, light sensor and motion sensors are used only for game features, are processed on the device and are never recorded or sent anywhere. The microphone is off unless you switch it on.
- Data leaves your device only when you send us feedback yourself.
1. Who is responsible
The controller responsible for data processing in the app “Wikinger God” and on this website is:
Datrax IT Services SchalkholzIngo Hangebrauck
Hauptstr. 35
25782 Schalkholz
Germany
E-mail: info@datrax.de
2. Data stored on your device
The game saves your village (residents, objects, time of day, weather, achievements) and your settings (volume, sensors, display) locally in the app’s private storage on your device. This data is not transmitted to us or to anyone else. It is deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its data. If you start a new village in the main menu, the previous save is kept as a local backup on the device.
3. Device features and sensors
| Feature | What it is used for | What happens to the data |
|---|---|---|
| Microphone (optional, off by default) | “Blow → wind”: blowing into the microphone makes the wind blow in the village. The permission is requested only when you switch the feature on in the settings. | Only the loudness is analysed in real time on the device. No audio is recorded, stored or transmitted. |
| Light sensor (can be switched off) | Covering the sensor starts a solar eclipse in the game. | Only the current brightness value is read on the device. Nothing is stored or transmitted. |
| Motion sensors (accelerometer, orientation) | Tilting lets residents slide, holding the device upside down turns the village over, shaking starts an earthquake, steering in a mini game. | Read on the device only. Nothing is stored or transmitted. |
| Flashlight (can be switched off) | The flashlight flickers with lightning in the game. | Only switched on and off. No camera image is taken and no camera permission is needed. |
| Vibration (can be switched off) | Short vibrations, for example when the dragon lands. | No data is processed. |
You can switch every sensor feature off at any time in Settings → Sensors, and revoke the microphone permission in your device settings.
4. Feedback you send from the app
In Settings → “Feedback & Info” you can send us a message (an idea, praise or a bug report). Only when you tap “Send”, the following is transmitted:
- the text you wrote and whether it is feedback or a bug report,
- your e-mail address, only if you enter one (so that we can reply),
- technical information: app version, device model, operating system version and system language,
- a short description of the game situation (time of day and weather in the game, number of residents),
- your IP address, which is technically necessary for the connection and is included in the message to protect against abuse.
The message is sent over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) to our contact service at kommunikation.datrax.de, which forwards it to us by e-mail. To protect against spam, the service counts requests per IP address; these counters are deleted after two days at the latest. The service log contains only metadata (time, project, delivery status), not the content of your message.
We use feedback only to answer you and to improve the game. We delete it when it is no longer needed for this, at the latest after two years.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR when we answer your request, and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR for our legitimate interest in improving the app and protecting the service against abuse.
5. Buying the full version
The game is free to play. Further content is unlocked with a one-time purchase (“full version”). The purchase is handled entirely by Google Play: Google processes payment data, billing address and purchase history under the Google privacy policy. We never receive payment data.
The app asks Google Play whether your Google account owns the full version and acknowledges new purchases to Google. For this, a purchase identifier (order ID, purchase token) and the purchase status are exchanged between the app and Google Play. The app only stores locally that the full version is unlocked, so that it also works offline. Nothing is sent to our own server. In the Google Play Console we as the provider see the orders (order ID, date, country, amount) for accounting and refunds.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of the purchase contract). We keep purchase records only as long as tax and commercial law require.
6. This website
When you visit this website, your browser sends technically necessary data to the server: IP address, date and time, the page requested, the referring page, and browser and operating system. The server stores this in log files to keep the site running and secure. Legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The logs are deleted when they are no longer needed for this purpose.
The website sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking and loads no content from third-party servers. The fonts are hosted on our own server as well.
7. Hosting and data processing
The website and the contact service are hosted by ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich, Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, Germany, on servers in Germany, under a data processing agreement according to Art. 28 GDPR.
8. No advertising, analytics or tracking
The app contains no advertising, no analytics or crash-reporting services and no tracking technologies. It has no user accounts. The only purchase is the full version (section 5). The game is made with the Unity engine; Unity’s optional analytics and cloud services are switched off in this app.
The app is distributed through Google Play. Google’s privacy policy applies to downloading and installing it; we have no influence on this.
9. Links
The app may open web pages in your browser (for example this privacy policy). The privacy policy of the respective website applies there.
10. Children
The game is suitable for children and does not ask for personal data. The only way to send us data is the optional feedback form; we ask children to send feedback only together with a parent. Before the full version can be bought, the app asks a maths question meant for adults. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20), and the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). To exercise these rights, write to info@datrax.de.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the Unabhängiges Landeszentrum für Datenschutz Schleswig-Holstein (ULD), Holstenstraße 98, 24103 Kiel, Germany, www.datenschutzzentrum.de.
12. Changes
We update this policy when the app or the law changes. The current version is always available at this address and is linked in the app under Settings → “Feedback & Info”.
